Contribute, Improve, Succeed.
You are an expert. With time invested in your work with First Advantage and our subsidiaries, there is no one who knows the ins and outs of your job better than you. Nor is there anyone better qualified to suggest improvements that could potentially positively impact your job or business unit – or even all of First Advantage!
So Let's Hear Your Ideas! First Advantage Corporation's global Employee Suggestion Program (ESP) gives you and all our associates the means to have your ideas heard, evaluated and, possibly, implemented. Your suggestion can potentially contribute to our corporate success – and, as an added bonus, it could earn you a monetary award and company-wide recognition!
Here's How ESP Works Submission: When you've got a good idea, you need to do some ‘homework’ on your suggestion before submitting it electronically to ESP. First, start by reviewing both the program rules and eligibility requirements. If your idea meets these basic requirements, download the Submission Worksheet PDF to help you prepare your suggestion so that it can be better evaluated. You are encouraged (but not required) to share your idea with your supervisor for additional insight. Once you are prepared, revisit this Web page and use the link that appears in the right navigation under Related Resources to submit your suggestion online.
Review: Your eligible suggestion will be presented to the ESP Review Committee, which convenes once a month, at the first meeting following your submission. During this meeting, the committee may approve your suggestion immediately for implementation, may reject the suggestion or may decide that your suggestion warrants additional research. If additional research is needed to make a decision on your suggestion, the appropriate committee members will be tasked to gather that information and make a recommendation to the committee at a subsequent monthly committee meeting. The committee will put your suggestion to a vote and the majority vote rules.
Awards and Recognition: Since it is often difficult to accurately measure the financial impact of a suggestion, ESP utilizes tiered rewards based on anticipated benefits and/or financial impact rather than on actual post-implementation impact. The ESP Review Committee will use their sole discretion in determining the monetary award for your suggestion based on the following guidelines:
- Good Idea
Defined as a suggestion compelling enough for the committee to explore; may or may not be selected for implementation.
Award: Up to a $500 bonus, a certificate and internal recognition
- Impact Idea
Defined as a suggestion selected for implementation that is easily quantified to have significant financial impact in the current fiscal year or significant intangible benefits.
Award: Bonus of up to $3,000, a plaque and internal recognition
- BIG Idea
Defined as a suggestion selected for implementation that is a value creator with long-term financial impact.
Award: Bonus of up to $10,000, a plaque and internal recognition
If a suggestion is submitted by a team of two or more employees, then the monetary award will be divided among the team members and individual certificates and/or plaques awarded. Awards will be presented as closely as possible following the ESP Review Committee's decision on your suggestion.
Decision Timeframe: The scope and complexity of your suggestion and the timing of its submission will determine the timeframe for the ESP Review Committee to make a decision. Ideally, suggestion implementation decisions would be made by the end of the committee meeting following the monthly meeting when the suggestion was initially presented. The maximum timeframe for the process – from the employee's submittal to the ESP Review Committee decision – should not be more than four months. The ESP Coordinator, who works closely with the committee to facilitate the program, will e-mail you throughout the process to keep you informed of the status of your suggestion, starting with acknowledgement of the receipt of your submission.
Suggestion Implementation: The implementation of your approved suggestion will depend on the scope and cost of the project. Suggestions involving major infrastructure modifications obviously will take longer to implement than those that do not. The ESP Review Committee will be responsible for securing project funding and, if or when funded, to assemble a Suggestion Implementation Team comprised of the most appropriate corporate and/or business unit associates. This team will develop a project plan and timeline, and will oversee the implementation of your suggestion. If feasible, as the idea submitter, you will also be part of the project implementation team and will have the opportunity to help your idea become reality!
