If
applicants choose not to divulge all of the places they
have lived and worked, you could miss some critical
clues regarding their possible criminal histories. The
First Advantage NationScan Criminal Index can help fill
in those blanks and identify localities where more in-depth
state and county criminal record searches are warranted.
Available through our Web tool, the NationScan Criminal
Index search provides access to more than 150 million
felony and misdemeanor records in 3,347 local jurisdictions
across the United States. It complies fully with Fair
Credit Reporting Act requirements and gives you a head
start on more detailed local searches for a comprehensive
criminal records check.
First Advantage’s NationScan utilizes multiple
criminal record sources, including: Department of Corrections,
State Court Administration, State Law Enforcement Agencies,
Traffic Courts, Sexual Offender Registries, State and
County Criminal Record Repositories, Prison Parole
and Release Files, Probation Records, and records from
other State Agencies. As an added bonus, each order
is searched against the AppAlert™ database, which
includes the OFAC list, FBI most wanted terrorists,
FBI most wanted fugitives, ten additional federal agency
lists, and wanted fugitive lists published by numerous
state and local law enforcement agencies.
Nationscan Basic
NationScan Basic provides you with a search of the
database and returns any criminal activity found.
Basic service allows you to determine which derogatory
information is verified by having First Advantage
do additional county criminal searches in the jurisdictions
you feel should be verified. Without verification
of the information it may not be used for adverse
action.
Nationscan Plus
NationScan plus provides you with a search of the database
plus one county of choice and goes a step beyond
basic. Any criminal activity found will be automatically
verified in the counties where information is found,
up to five counties. If more than five counties are
returned on the search we will call you to verify
if you want them searched.
