- First Advantage was retained by a public company
to assist in its defense in an unfair competition/antitrust
matter. We identified, screened, and interviewed
over 1,500 former employees of the plaintiff company.
Ultimately, we obtained affidavits from more than
20 of the former employees, enabling our client to
win a motion to dismiss certain claims and to bring
a counterclaim based on fraud by the plaintiff company.
- First Advantage located and interviewed hundreds
of former employees of a company suing our client.
We obtained numerous signed statements from witnesses
with information helpful to our client and, as a
result, the case settled in our client’s favor.
In fact, when the opponent’s trustee in bankruptcy
was required to defend the settlement to its creditors,
he specifically named a witness found and interviewed
by First Advantage and noted on the record that this witness's
potential trial testimony was a reason for the settlement.
- Defendant company facing frivolous claims
by a cash-strapped distributor engaged First Advantage
to do a comprehensive due diligence into plaintiff’s
key witnesses and to identify materials contradicting
the key claims. First Advantage located public filings
made and representations made to an Alaskan regulatory
agency that contradicted the plaintiff’s theory
of the case and containing sworn statements by the
star plaintiff’s witness. The case was dismissed
and fines were assessed by the court.
