WOTC+™ 

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) allows employers to earn federal income tax credits as a percentage of wages paid to certain categories of workers that may face barriers to employment, including former welfare recipients.

The keys to an optimal WOTC program are to hire as many eligible candidates as possible and complete all the necessary federal paperwork to claim the credit. In an effort to achieve this maximum return for our clients, First Advantage has retooled and enhanced our program, WOTC+™, to help our clients recruit more WOTC-eligible candidates who may also qualify client companies to collect additional cash incentives through workforce development programs.

WOTC+™ begins at the recruiting stage – long before traditional programs. First Advantage has long-standing relationships with more than 5,000 Community Based Organizations (CBO) and agencies across the United States that administer federally funded workforce development programs. Working closely with these CBOs, the team stays up-to-date on new programs, program updates and changes to ensure our clients are taking advantage of every possible opportunity. This is the basis for increasing your WOTC-eligible candidate pool. Using our integrated technologies, we take jobs you post in your applicant tracking system (ATS) and send those postings to CBOs. The CBOs, in turn, refer pre-qualified candidates to your ATS to apply.

All candidates complete a short online screening questionnaire during the application process that will identify individuals who are eligible for WOTC and any workforce development programs you’re participating in upon hire. Once eligible candidates are onboard, First Advantage will help your team through the process of filing paperwork and tracking data required to earn the WOTC credit and workforce development reimbursements or subsidies.
